Job Description

York is a leading international teaching and research university, and a driving force for positive change. Empowered by a welcoming and diverse community with a uniquely global perspective, we are preparing our students for their long-term careers and personal success. Together, we can make things right for our communities, our planet and our future.

The role supports the development and implementation of programs, initiatives and interventions that foster academic and learning success for students within LA&PS. In addition, with an entrepreneurial mindset, the role develops, implements, and coordinates strategic, operational and revenue or funding generation plans, with the Associate Deans and the various program leaders, for the access and non-degree programs. With a focus on student academic success and retention, and access, the role applies data and metrics in alignment with the Faculty and broader University priorities to inform and guide their work and that of the team. The role supports the development and implementation of new services and programming, and the assessment and enhancement of existing programming, through an evidence based and theoretically informed method of practice. In addition, the role fosters partnerships, with LA&PS colleagues and those across the campus such as the Division of Students, Learning Skills Services, Learning Commons, and other campus partners, to leverage expertise and resources for student academic support programming, to contribute to seamless student service delivery across the campus, and to foster information sharing and best-practices. These collaborations maximize and ensures sustainability of services for students within LA&PS and contribute to a robust community of practice approach for the University.
