Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem-solve

Data validation in Workday for compliance and people objectives

Work with Long Term & Retirement site management to determine their placement needs for each quarter

Respond to ad-hoc inquiries from post-secondary institutions and from site level management

1 – 2 years of work experience and/or coop experience in human resources or a related field

Process payroll (together with the Finance Department).

Create and manage training programs.

Handling of the recruitment process.

To fulfill the previous point well, keep yourself updated on ideal candidate characteristics.

Carry out disciplinary actions and schedule hearings.

Provide employees with career growth resources.

Academic Upgrading as well as Alberta Education graduation requirements and pathways to post-secondary programs.

Strong familiarity with Alberta Education graduation requirements

5+ years of related advising and student support experience in a foundational post-secondary environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Proficient knowledge of computer systems, including PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office.

Managerial or supervisory experience in unionized post-secondary environment is required.

A graduate degree in a relevant field, such as education, psychology and/or business.

Specialized training in student success, retention, academic advising, learning skills strategies, and student development theory and programming is required.

Proven innovative program design, implementation and evaluation of post-secondary student success and retention programs, initiatives and services are required.

Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources, Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Management, Marketing & Communications or similar focus.
