Position Job Title: Student Recruitment Advisor
Location: Niagara Falls or Toronto, Ontario (Remote)
Reports To: Associate Director, Student Recruitment
Salary: $50,000 CAD
Overview
The University of Niagara Falls Canada (UNF), Ontario’s newest university set to open its doors in 2024, will be offering a host of distinctive undergraduate and graduate programs to prepare graduates to be leaders in a digital world. Our programs are designed to promote a digital mindset characterized by digital fluency – a combination of technical proficiency, literacy, ethics and communication – and by a growth mindset that is future-focused, collaborative, change-oriented and disposed toward continuous learning.
The University of Niagara Falls Canada is a subsidiary of GUS Canada and part of the Global University Systems (GUS) network. GUS is one of the largest education groups in the world; offering accredited bachelor's, master's, medical and law degree programs, vocational and professional qualifications, and language courses to approximately 100,000 students globally. GUS Canada has successfully introduced many innovative post-secondary institutions to communities across the country over the past decade, including University Canada West (Vancouver), the Canadian College of Technology and Business (Vancouver), the Toronto School of Management (Toronto), the Trebas Institute (Toronto and Montreal), and The Language Gallery (Vancouver and Toronto).
Specific Responsibilities
- Student Engagement: Interact with prospective students through various channels, including phone calls, emails, social media, and in-person meetings. Build rapport, understand their educational aspirations, and provide relevant information about our programs, admission requirements, scholarships, and campus life.
- Recruitment Strategy: Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of high-quality students. Identify target markets, participate in recruitment events, visit schools, and establish partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to increase awareness and visibility of our institution.
- Application Support: Guide prospective students through the application process, including helping them complete application forms, submit required documents, and meet deadlines. Provide advice on writing personal statements and essays, and assist in the preparation of portfolios, transcripts, and recommendation letters.
- Information Sessions and Presentations: Conduct information sessions and presentations to groups of prospective students and their families. Deliver compelling presentations about our institution's academic programs, student services, campus facilities, and extracurricular activities to generate interest and answer questions.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with school counselors, teachers, and other influencers in the education community. Collaborate with them to organize campus visits, college fairs, and other recruitment events. Serve as a primary point of contact for external partners and ensure timely and accurate communication.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all student interactions, including inquiries, applications, and outcomes. Utilize CRM systems or other tools to track student progress, monitor recruitment activities, and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor institutions, and changes in admission policies and regulations. Identify opportunities for improvement in recruitment processes, materials, and strategies, and propose innovative ideas to enhance student recruitment efforts.
- Additional: Providing regular feedback on quality of leads / Work in accordance to follow up process set by management.
- Other duties as and when assigned by Manager / Director of Recruitment.
Position Requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with diverse individuals and build relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, marketing, communication) is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM systems or other data management tools is a plus.
- Prior experience in student recruitment, admissions, or related fields is preferred.
- Strong presentation and public speaking abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint);
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required for recruitment events.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet recruitment targets.
