The Career Consulting team is seeking candidates for the following position in Toronto.

Senior Principal Career Consultant

Career Consultants partner with board members, top-level executives, and HR leaders to optimize business performance through strategies that enable organizations to better manage, reward, and engage their people
• You will join a national team of 100 passionate Consultants who have a wealth of expertise in employee and executive rewards, HR and Talent strategy, employee communication, and workforce analytics
• The Senior Principal supports companies in the design and execution of performance measurement and reward strategies that reinforce business objectives
• You will work with organizations to identify the financial and people factors that drive value
• You will be able to tap into the expertise across Mercer’s global network and work with a broad range of colleagues and industry experts

We will count on you to:

• Structure and/or review client deliverables
• Structure, direct, review, and interpret analyses performed by the project team
• Design short-term and long-term incentive programs that reinforce the clients’ strategic objectives
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs that address clients’ attraction and retention needs
• Handle day-to-day interaction with clients
• Provide consulting services to senior management on a variety of remuneration issues, including competitiveness of pay, performance, measurement, and governance and regulatory implications
• Generate revenue through development of new client relationships and building and maintaining strong client relationships, which will ideally lead to opportunities for project extensions, cross-selling, and referrals to new prospects
• Provide consulting services on broader Human Capital issues and/or market trends

What you need to have:

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in human resources, business, or finance related consulting
• Broad based or Executive compensation experience
• Broad experience in HR, IT, Operations (HR preferred, those with HR plus IT and Ops are a bonus)
• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills
• Strong financial and business acumen

• Significant experience in a professional services environment with an HR consulting background
