Job Summary

• Are you a technical or subject matter expert on all things related to energy efficiency of electronic products?

If so, CSA Group is looking for our technical expert (Principal Technical Lead) to provide technical leadership to our global network of engineers and technicians as we evaluate the energy efficiency of electronic products.

CSA Group has an immediate opportunity for a technical expert (Principal Technical Lead) for Electronics Energy Efficiency in our Technical Management department (think quality and accreditation). This position will be responsible for providing technical leadership and will act as the senior technical lead in our Technical Support and Oversight group, specifically for the efficiency of electronic products, among all CSA Group certification offices and Network Partners (16 countries and over 30 facilities).

Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will:

• Conduct internal audits of CSA Group laboratories and technical staff to ensure a consistent and high level of quality.
• Support Operations activities involving accreditation in SCC, IAS, OSHA, etc. for standards within your assigned areas.
• Be responsible for energy efficiency of electronic products using primarily North American (non-internationally) developed standards.
• Support our networks and forums to gather and exchange technical knowledge.

Also, you will be heavily involved in reviewing, assessing and training staff, providing effective dispute resolution, resolving technical issues and providing interpretation of technical requirements (making the complex seem easy!).

Education And Experience

• Experience in standards development activities.
• Must have proven analytical skills and technical experience with energy efficiency of electronic products.
• Ten (10) years of relevant experience in electronics energy efficiency (may include evaluation or certification experience involving the application of standards)
• The ideal candidate possesses a University degree in Electrical Engineering and professional registration.

Skills

• Must be flexible and perform well in a team environment under pressure, with multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work with Network Members as part of the audit and training function
• Must be willing to travel globally.
• Strong training skills must be evident since training of staff and passing along knowledge and experiences are critical elements of this position.
• Computer proficiency required
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills are necessary.
• Ability to interact with regulators, clients, and other certification agency staff when participating in the standards development process
• Must have demonstrated competence for the position and commitment to technical excellence.
• Must have exceptional interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), and presentation skills to make complex ideas and concepts sound simple.
• Ability to apply logic and discover root causes
• Strong leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization in a collaborative fashion.
