Principal Consultants are expected to provide deep business and technical expertise across all of our focus areas in cloud. Principal Consultants are expected to have a level of business acumen which allows them to confidently discuss every stage of the technology adoption cycle all the way from the CEO to the developer.


What To Expect

OpsGuru Principal Consultants are assigned to a number of accounts and are expected to work with their clients to become a trusted technical advisor. Our Principal Consultants are thought leaders and are able to guide and challenge clients in a respectful manner to ensure they receive the highest level of value from their technology investments. At times you will be participating in the sales process, typically assisting in a pre-sales or equivalent capacity. You will work alongside Account Executives to scope and author statements of works for our clients and will be heavily involved in account management. This is a remote position to be located in Canada


Typical Day

  • Guide and challenge clients in a respectful manner to ensure they receive the highest level of value from their technology investments.
  • Principal Consultants are expected to provide deep business and technical expertise across all of our focus areas in cloud.
  • Participate in the sales process, typically in a pre-sales or equivalent capacity.
  • Work alongside our Account Executives and Presales Architects to scope and provide support on creating statements of works for our clients, as well as being heavily involved in account management.
  • Assigned to a number of accounts and are expected to work with their clients to become a trusted technical advisor.
  • Confidently discuss every stage of the technology adoption cycle all the way from the CEO to the developer.
  • Thought leadership; Working and strategizing with the customer.


Experience We're Looking For

  • A history of holding a budget and is able to model project costs and provide resourcing plans
  • 5+ years of experience delivering professional services or providing product management for one or more workloads on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). Preferably delivering one or more of the following: (Cloud and/or Microservices Adoption, Big Data, Machine Learning, IaC adoption, etc.)
  • A history of handling customer requests and escalations
  • Able to confidently model costs and explain the total cost of ownership model of various methods of hosting infrastructure
  • Sales experience preferably in a pre-sales function
  • In depth experience with Serverless Architecture and Cloud Native Development with relevant resources such as Lambda, Node.js, React.js etc.
  • A history of managing multiple complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders simultaneously
  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant information technology environment
  • A history of delivering presentations to a wide ranging audience including CxO and VP level executives
