Advisory Consultant Intern (September - December 2023)

Responsibilities of this specific role will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Prepare analyses, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and coordinate/manage relevant project inputs from other consultants
• Request, review and manage relevant project data, market studies, financial and economic plans, and contextual issues
• Prepare and deliver presentations of the above to satisfy client needs and goals
• Interact with other consultants, within Arup and externally, for business planning, financial advisory, and due diligence assignments of infrastructure assets
• Review and/or develop financial models, economic cost-benefit analyses, feasibility analyses, and market studies
• Respond to RFP’s and prepare proposals
• Conduct business planning, economic, contractual, and/or financial analysis as required
• Develop and maintain strong internal and external networks 

Qualifications

• Initiative and curiosity
• Strategic thinking
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Economics, Finance, Business Administration or similar fields required
• Fast learner
• Candidate must be eligible to work in Canada without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft office programs (specifically Excel and PowerPoint)
• Exposure to financial modeling
• Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
• Excellent presentation and writing skills
• Interest in Infrastructure (i.e., rail, aviation, highways, renewable energy)

Preferred

• Master's degree in Engineering, Construction management, Urban Planning, Economics, Finance, Business administration or similar fields
• Skills in Corporate strategy development
• Knowledge of different procurement models (i.e., P3’s)
• Course work themes in business, finance, economics, project and process management 
• Practical hands-on experience with financial modeling
