Position: Principal Consultant – Network and Security

Location: Anywhere in Canada, but preference will be given to BC, Alberta and Manitoba.

At The WolfStrata Group (WSG), we are looking to strengthen our business by adding more incredible talent to our team. We are currently seeking a Principal Consultant – Network and Security will function as a trusted technical advisory to our clients and help drive the design, adoption, and optimization of networking and security solutions in their environment. The ideal candidate should possess a combination of effective communication skills and an in-depth technical acumen including at least five years of experience with technical implementations of customer projects. The consultant will be expected to help develop and gather business and technical requirements, create network and security architectures, execute professional services implementation engagements and assist in both new deployments and in-place monitoring and management of solutions for WSG’s clients.

Responsibilities

• Deploying network security, as well as documenting network installation and maintenance processes.
• Collaborating with our clients to build and maintain network infrastructures that meet business needs.
• Post project knowledge transfer and documentation
• Staying informed of developments in network and security infrastructure and technologies.
• Optimizing network performance and assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience preferred with technical implementationsof networking and/or security solutions
• Ability to manage and successfully deliver technical projects.
• Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills
• Extensive knowledge of network and security technologies and architecture
• Strong knowledge of networking and security products from our key vendors: Fortinet, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks and Cisco
• Superb organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to jointly work with a sales organization on opportunities.
• Experience working as a pre-sales engineer or architect in a consulting role
• Life-long learner with the ability to regularly study and write certification exams for the latest network and security technologies.
• Ability to self supervise

Technical Skills

• SIEM
• Endpoint Security
• LAN and WAN networking experience with various vendor equipment and large enterprise networks
• Design functional networks using up to date security practices
• VPN
• Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, etc.)
• SD-WAN
• Identity services
• Firewalls
• Disaster Recovery

Education

• Educational equivalent to completion of college diploma or other post secondary education
• Senior Fortinet, HPE, Aruba, Palo Alto Networks and Cisco certifications preferred such as NSE7, CCNP, CCDP etc.
