This is a hybrid opportunity based out of our Toronto Support Centre. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security and Systems you will manage the cyber security and networking for new and existing dental practices at dentalcorp.
In this role, you will
- Be responsible for Security System Design and Implementation: Develop, upgrade, and implement security measures and controls. Design secure networks and systems.
- Provide Risk Assessment: Conduct penetration testing, simulate attacks to identify vulnerabilities, perform risk analysis, and security assessments.
- Monitor Systems: Regularly monitor networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions. This can be done by installing software that notifies the analyst of intrusions, watching for irregular system behavior, and by studying server and firewall logs to identify any unusual activity.
- Stay Updated with Cybersecurity Trends: Cybersecurity is a constantly evolving field, with new vulnerabilities discovered on a regular basis. As a result, Cybersecurity Analysts need to be aware of the latest trends in security vulnerabilities, data breaches, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide Documentation and Reporting: Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause. Write comprehensive reports on their findings, and give technical and procedural recommendations for further securing the system.
- Provide Threat Analysis and Protection: Identify and mitigate potential security threats, respond to security breaches, and work towards preventing future breaches. Analyze successful or failed attacks to improve security strategies.
- Develop Security Standards and Best Practices: Guide the organization on security protocols, create and update the company's disaster recovery plan, provide training to staff about security risks and preventive measures.
- Be responsible for Compliance: Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations.
What we're looking for
- Experience designing secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
- Knowledge of risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
- Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, CCNP Security, CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), and others would be a plus.
- Proficient in firewall administration, operating system security, Internet security, and network security technologies and products.
- Expert understanding of cyber security protocols and procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of network protocols, data on the wire, and covert channels.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- At least 2 to 3 years of work experience as a network security analyst or similar role in information security.
