The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. This is an essential role within our Research & Development Team. Our new Senior Software Engineer will be instrumental in creating and improving our software and systems.

You will play a major role in the future architecture of an expanding platform and influence our overall technology roadmap.

About The Team

Our new Senior Software Engineer will work on the Valuations Data Team. The mission of the Valuations Data Team is to build out and maintain the Valuation Calculation Service. This is a green field project to build out the core components of a system that supports a multi-million-dollar business. Our team works on the design, development, maintenance, and evolution of data, infrastructure and software products which allow our users to derive valuations and financial performance analysis of their real estate assets. Our products are foundational and support Altus’ core market offerings. The team is shipping new products to power the future of Altus, expanding on existing capabilities to new markets and re-engineering for scale and stability.

Our new Senior Software Engineer will:   

• Lead and collaborate with the engineering team to design, build, and maintain software systems. 
• Have ownership over development in the scope the entire data pipeline/software architecture that includes collection, cleaning/validating, enrichment, storage, and consumption.
• Write high quality code, participate actively in code reviews, mentor other teammates, and help grow our culture and team.
• Work with cross-functional team to maximize company ability to quickly leverage data and meet customers’ needs. 

Our new Senior Software Engineer will have:   

• Experience with data systems/ software systems and large data sets 
• The experience. 4+ years in a Senior Software Engineering capacity.
• Experience building online SaaS software applications and services. 

Software Engineering Experience With

• Incorporating testing, observability, and maintainability into software products.
• Improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
• Producing high level internal and external documentation.
• Unit and Integration Testing.
• Object Oriented Programming or Design.
• Domain Driven Design and Object Orientation.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Serverless technologies. 
• Experience with cloud providers (AWS preferred -S3, Lambda, SQS, Redshift).
• CI/CD experience with modern deployment tools like Jenkins, ADO
