Position Summary

Unique and challenging opportunity to lead the PMO and support project management functions, including supporting Marketing teams with exciting initiatives. The Senior Manager of Project Management \ PMO will act as the functional leader of project delivery, continuous improvement and the Stage Gate process \ governance across the Canadian organization. In addition, this role will require direct interaction with our Marketing team to support the Commercialization \ Product Life Cycle process.

Essential Job Functions Summary

• Facilitate and support Continuous Improvement to develop, implement & maintain a pipeline of Cost \ Waste reduction initiatives that deliver annual returns
• Review programs and projects for deliverability including adequate resourcing management and governance procedures and accuracy of financial estimates.
• Increase project management maturity and capability within the SBA through the application of project management experience and knowledge
• Coach and mentor Project Sponsors and Project Managers.
• Lead a team of Project Managers with oversight of the Stage Gate and Continuous Improvement processes including resource planning and management and the monitoring and reporting of project outcomes \ statuses
• Employ DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) strategies through all phases of C.I. Project Management
• Develop & maintain project portfolio prioritization methodologies
• As required, act as the Project Manager for select projects
• Provide advice and guidance, monitoring and assurance, advocacy and education with respect to programs, projects and their delivery to staff at all levels
• Establish and maintain close working relationships with other internal Project Management, C.I. and cross functional team to facilitate and leverage the sharing of resources, achievement of business goals and best practices
• Establish organization wide project reporting with a focus on value added advice and early identification and resolution of risk and issues

Qualifications

• Previous experience working directly with Marketing teams as part of the Commercialization \ Product Life Cycle process is preferred.
• Strong communication skills to constructively communicate during stressful times with team and stakeholders
• Process driven with the flexibility to engage challenges with creative thinking
• PMP designation is an asset
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
• Willingness to travel as needed
• Ability to balance multiple projects and competing priorities with tight deadlines
• Be organized, detail-oriented, accurate and work well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, results-oriented team environment.
• Relevant degree (preferred), diploma or equivalent experience required
• Minimum of 8-10 years of Project Management, Stage Gate, Supply Chain and Operations experience
• Successful people management and development skills
• Lean Six Sigma \ Black Belt designation is an asset
• Understanding of business and innovation strategy and able to translate to project deliverables with an emphasis on speed to market
• Understanding of business processes/systems and their interdependencies
• Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity especially in the “front end” of projects
