Your internship at Canam

Your mandate will be to assist the Project Manager and Site Superintendent with the management and supervision of a structural steel erection project. You will be based on a construction site and work mainly in Ontario. Looking for interns for different locations (Ottawa, Orleans, London, Peterborough, Saint Catherine)

Your Tasks Will Include

• Assist with health and safety recordings
• Participate to coordination meetings with the engineering, detailing and fabrication team
• Assist the Site superintendent with quality control
• Attend on-site coordination meetings with the general contractor
• Produce erection progress and site daily reports (PlanGrid/AutoDesk, Trimble Connect)
• Assist the steel erector in repair request (field works and deficiencies)
• Follow up on the delivery schedule and validate delivery slips
• Collect data on site and update the construction schedule (MS Project, Smartsheet, Google Workspace)

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess:

• Autonomy and ability to manage priorities
• Willingness to progress
• Familiarity with MS Project, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, PlanGrid/AutoDesk, Trimble Connect
• Civil engineering/Construction Management bachelor
• Passed or taking all necessary courses
• Ability to drive

Candidates must be willing to travel to the assigned Construction Site. Travel and accommodations by Canam, if required.
