Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking Project Management Specialist, reporting to the Contractor Field Office (CFO) Manager working out of the Petawawa ON facility.


This position will work as the Maintenance Training Center (MTC) Site Lead in Petawawa Ontario in support of the Medium to Heavy Lift Helicopter (MHLH) Program’s Maintenance Training Program. The Project Management Specialist will report to the Contractor Field Office (CFO) Manager in the execution of their duties, and will support all aspects of the Program’s In-service support (ISS) delivery to the Maintenance Training program for the CH-147F.


Position Responsibility:


  • Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case. Develops and establishes lead time requirements. Facilitates and ensures integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry.
  • Leads, develops, coordinates, integrates, analyzes, and maintains integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management industry.
  • Ensure the delivery of services complies with the MHLH Program quality management system (QMS), and support the development of processes and procedures that ensure first time quality.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Support the configuration management of the Maintenance Training Centre’s (MTC) equipment and data.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment between program deliverables and customer requirements.
  • Directs all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion. Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies.
  • Leads studies/analysis (trend, variance, impact), reports, risk assessments and planning efforts to determine impacts, constraints involving product development, production rates, process improvement, program initiatives.
  • Plan, lead and manage maintenance training projects adhering to project management best practices, to include the execution of customer additional work requests (AWRs) for the maintenance training suite (MTS).
  • Oversee all aspects of support to the CH-147F maintenance training. This will entail coordination and planning with Boeing engineers, subcontractors, and customer personnel.


This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):


  • Must consent to Canadian Government Controlled Goods Program (CGP) assessment.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada.
  • Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data.
  • 5+ years’ experience working as a project manager.
  • Must be eligible for Secret Level II security clearance.
  • Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods.


Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):


  • Post-secondary education.
  • Aviation or aerospace experience.
  • Active Secret Level II Security Clearance.
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience of the Canadian Armed Forces individual training and education system.


Typical Education and Experience:


Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.)

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.


Additional Information:


This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
