Project Manager RTO Active Transportation

Reporting to the Manger of the Rapid Transit and Active Transportation Implementation, the successful applicant will be responsible for the advancement, implementation and delivery of active transportation projects consistent with the Regional Cycling Plan.

The incumbent will:

• Identify and monitor funding requirements and financial feasibility of projects
• Conduct critical and constructive technical reviews of active transportation and municipal road design engineering submissions
• Present information and answer questions at public and stakeholder meetings
• Prepare committee/council reports and recommendations
• Participate on internal and external teams and/or committees in the development of engineering design and construction practices
• Improvements carried out by staff or consultants from inception to completion
• Respond to inquiries and resolve concerns from the public and stakeholders
• Supervise, develop and coach assigned staff
• Manage and oversee the planning, designing and scheduling of active transportation projects and

The successful applicant will possess:

• Excellent interpersonal, problem solving skills, verbal and written communication, public relations, negotiation and organizational skills
• Computer proficiency using Microsoft Office programs
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario
• Knowledge of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, and familiarity with various other municipal, provincial and federal acts, policies and guidelines as they pertain to active transportation and road related projects
• Extensive related project management and engineering experience related to the functional planning and detailed design for active transportation facilities and/or municipal roads
• A valid Ontario Class 'G' Driver's Licence and the use of a reliable vehicle
