The Opportunity


Are you a highly driven and effective HR leader? AgeCare is looking for a Senior Manager, HR Corporate Services. This position is an integral part of the HR leadership team providing effective leadership to the HR corporate services areas within the organization, disability management, volunteer management and data management. The role will drive innovation to modernize and improve the employee experience, lead complex change management initiatives, and create a foundation to standardize human resources practices in the organization.

In this role you will be focused on:


  • Leads, supports, and consistently develops the organization’s recruitment initiatives, hiring practices, and new employee onboarding processes.
  • Demonstrates effective leadership skills and abilities that promote a workplace culture and environment that aligns with the organization’s mission, visions, and guiding principles.
  • Overall management of human resources corporate services areas, disability management, volunteer management, employee recognition and data management.
  • Lead development, implementation and support of HR strategies and programs that deliver an exceptional employee experience, employee engagement, performance and career development, and talent management.
  • Build relationships with senior leaders across the business in a highly matrixed environment to establish human resources related goals and execute implementation plans to achieve high quality deliverables, within expected timeframes.


What You Will Do:


  • Act as HR Partner for corporate positions, including supporting corporate management with full cycle recruitment, employee strategies and succession planning.
  • Leads and administers the organizations’ Performance Management and Attendance Management Programs.
  • Drive improvements, assess program outcomes and recommend enhancements.
  • Develop people and foster an innovative and team-oriented work environment.
  • Relationship manager with external Human Resources (HR) service provider.
  • Execute planned strategies at an enterprise-wide scale using effective change management communication.
  • Stay informed of trends and innovations that drive employee engagement and improve the talent management program outcomes.
  • Leads and promotes the organization’s Service Award and Recognition Program through the Living Our Values Program (WOW Tickets).

What You Bring:


  • Proven leadership qualities and able to build and maintain highly effective relationships across the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of BC and Alberta employment standards, wage, salary, benefits, and pension laws and regulations an asset.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience with employee engagement, talent management program.
  • Preferred qualification: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is preferred.
  • Must be able to provide a complete and current (within six months) Vulnerable Sector Check, including a Criminal Background Check, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years progressive human resources experience in a progressive, fast-paced environment, with demonstrated experience in developing and implementing organization-wide programs. Experience in long-term care at a large organization is preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of leading change management best practices and methodologies and proven experience of measuring the effectiveness of culture transformation initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with internal teams to develop and implement people focused initiatives and talent programs across a matrixed organization.
  • Excellent networking, partnership, and stakeholder management skills, with a solid understanding of how people respond and adapt to change.
  • Experience with Workday and UKG is preferred.
  • Exhibits strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Broad general knowledge of performance evaluation, customer service metrics, payroll, benefits compensation programs and documentation.
  • Team player with the ability to deliver quality customer service to all levels within the organization.
