Job Description
What You Will Do


The Senior Procurement Consultant is a customer-focused, analytical thinker, experienced with supporting category experts and internal clients with their sourcing, contracting and purchasing needs. They are an important member of the Non-Merchandise Procurement (NMP) team, whose mandate is to support procurements and related productivity improvements. Categories of spend touched by the team include supply chain, real estate, marketing, IT, HR, professional services, financial services, retail supplies (not for resale), administrative supplies, and travel. This position will be focused on the sourcing and contracting of marketing and events services and supplies.


  • Contribute to and demonstrate the value of NMP services for each purchase and project, working with the objective of increasing the use of NMP services
  • Work with internal clients in the execution of RFx strategies, and ensure contract terms and service level agreements are understood during the implementation stage
  • Leverage standard and customized contracts to support drafting activities, and liaise with internal and external legal counsel to finalize contracts. Negotiate business terms and conditions
  • Use industry research services to identify trends, techniques and alternative sources of supply
  • Monitor vendor performance during the contract term and ensure that all information is captured and updated in vendor and contract records
  • Create, analyze, group, and interpret spend-related data. Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
  • Responsible for running RFx’s including analyzing the current category landscape, developing the sourcing strategy, executing sourcing events, negotiating contract pricing, terms and conditions, and completing all NMP related project/procurement documentation
  • Work collaboratively with various business functions to deliver solutions that meet business priorities across multiple spend categories
  • Provide analytics for bid comparison, baseline costing and savings calculations
  • Work with Finance to complete financial due diligence, perform lease/buy analysis and ensure appropriate financial treatments and contractual enterprise commitments are approved and reported
  • Manage stakeholder communication, requisitions, Q&A documentation/distribution, evaluation, reference calls and vendor briefings.


What You Bring


  • Proven ability to act in an ethical and transparent manner in compliance with corporate code of conduct
  • Strong project management skills with ability to organize, control and coordinate a variety of activities in a fast paced environment
  • University degree in business or related area, College/Technical Institute diploma, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to develop credibility and maintain relationships with all levels of management, business partners and vendors
  • Experience (in a sourcing and procurement capacity) in one more specific spend categories, such as Travel, IT, Marketing, Supply Chain or Professional Services, would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills along with exceptional skills in facilitating meetings, interviewing, and influencing others
  • Proficiency in leading procurement technologies (e.g. Ariba or Coupa) is an asset
  • Bilingual (English/French Quebec) is an asset.
