Job Description
RESIDENT CARE - STAFFING COORDINATOR


Status and FTE: Permanent, Full Time


Department: Administration - Employee Relations


Hours of Work: 80 hours bi-weekly


Compensation: $46,000-50,000 Annually


Position Objective


As a contributor to the Care Team, the Resident Care - Staffing Coordinator reports to the Employee Relations Specialist and is part of the team responsible for all aspects of centralized scheduling and payroll submission for approximately 300 unionized employees. The position may assist, upon request from the Resident Care Department or Quality and Program Support Department, with resident support activities to ensure exceptional individualized quality resident focused care.


Qualifications


Required:


  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
  • Current Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Experience in payroll administration and submission
  • Ability to respond appropriately in pressure situations with a calm and steady demeanour
  • Experience scheduling staff, preferably in a unionized environment and utilizing electronic scheduling tools
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability
  • Grade Twelve or equivalent, coupled with experience or education in office administration, medical office administration, or any other health-related services education.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills
  • Sound planning, prioritizing and execution skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Willingness to enroll in Continuing Care Assistant Program.


Preferred


  • Experience working in Labour Relations and applying the terms of a Collective Agreement
  • Experience working in a Healthcare Environment
  • Familiarity with medical terminology

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with resident transportation to and from activities,
  • Resident Support Activities
  • Employee Relations Support
  • Following up on staff absences, as directed by the Employee Relations Specialist
  • Liaising with Resident Care Managers on staffing requirements,
  • Maintaining staffing allocation sheets to support scheduling operations,
  • Completing payroll submissions,
  • Reviewing staffing data and preparing reports, as requested by the Employee Relations Specialist (e.g. sick time, attendance management support, etc.)
  • Scheduling Support
  • Making and receiving calls from staff to address staffing needs,
  • Assisting with providing materials to resident care areas, as required,
