Department Description
We welcome applications for a Data Research Assistant to work on the SUMMIT trial. The Research Assistant is an integral part of the busy, dynamic, and growing lab, led by Clinician Scientist and PI Dr. Daisy Singla at the Lunenfeld Tanenbaum Research Institute. In this role, the specific focus will be to work on research projects focused on promoting access to brief, evidence-based psychological treatments. This includes the large, multi-site trial referred to as the Scaling Up Maternal Mental healthcare by Increasing access to Treatment (SUMMIT) study, funded by PCORI. The aim of the trial is to examine scalable models to improve evidence-based psychological treatments for perinatal depression and anxiety. The successful applicant will support the large SUMMIT Team in two ways: 1) working closely with the data team on data-related tasks; and 2) working with the Health Economist and study teams to facilitate the cost evaluation.
The Research Assistant will report to the Study Principal Investigator (Dr. Daisy Singla), and be overseen by the Study Leadership Team.
Responsibilities of the Research Assistant (Data) include but are not limited to:

• Aid in data management of related study activities; work closely with other team members
• Perform other general office-related duties as required (e.g., organizing and maintaining electronic shared drive and participant folders)
• Assist the study Health Economist and study team with tracking of economic data in relation to the trial
• Maintain REDCapTM database and set-up new instruments and surveys
• Ensure quality control of clinical trial data including data quality and integrity checks in statistical database
• Liaise with ICES analyst and study team as needed
• Prepare written correspondences, reports and presentations using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of research statistical databases
• Support data team with daily tasks related to participants (e.g. sending research questionnaires and communicating with participant and research team)
• Data analysis (parametric and non-parametric) using SAS to build reports and graphs
• Assist in the economic evaluation of SUMMIT
• Monitor and maintain deadlines and schedules

Requirements

• Self-directed with an ability to make decisions and to exercise good judgement
• Experience in analysis and interpretation of research datasets is required
• A minimum of two years of recent and related experience in, or familiarity with, a research environment in a health setting
• Superior organizational and time management skills with a flexibility to adjust to priorities
• Experience with economic evaluation analyses is required
• Experience in data management tasks for clinical trials an asset
• Ability to work accurately and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with REDCapTM database is required
• Successful completion of a University degree in a relevant field, preferably in Epidemiology or Health Sciences
• A minimum of two years of recent and related experience in, or familiarity with, a research environment in a health setting
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Experience in SAS through clinical trials or other research studies an asset
