The opportunity:
Office Assistant is responsible for administrative support and basic accounting practices for the unit. Reporting to the Executive Assistant to Executive Director, the incumbent assists the Directors and document and prepare budget balance for all the FOAP’s in the unit. Operates EPIC orders, weekly payroll, purchasing, monthly FOAP reconciliation etc.
The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- Familiarity with purchasing policies and procedures of the University is preferred.
- Experience with the University's human resource system (VIP) is preferred.
- Experience with the University's financial systems, e.g., FAST, EPIC, and Concur, is preferred.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete complex secretarial, clerical or basic accounting routines required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- Completion of a formal training program in applied office skills or in a related discipline from a recognized institution required.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
- Basic knowledge of general office routines, is required.
- Proficiency with introductory to intermediate functions of the current version of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
- Minimum three years of directly related experience is required.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision and to independently prioritize work as needed.
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of staff, students and public is essential.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
