Pearson, the world's leading learning company, is currently seeking a motivated, performance-oriented, Bilingual Research Assistant to join our R&D team. This position is work from home primarily but may require office attendance for team events or in-office work on occasion.


Job Summary


The Bilingual (English/French) Research Assistant (RA) is responsible for all elements of project coordination of all ongoing studies. The RA is primarily responsible for the quality of the data collected including ensuring appropriate screening and training of all third-party contractors (Examiners), supervising the adherence to sample inclusion and exclusion criteria, and supports the scoring and data entry of all data collected. The RA works alongside other Research Coordinators to support all projects in development. The RA reviews and manages the study matrices to ensure accuracy and quality of final data and alerts the Research Coordinators of any issue or pattern arising from the sample that needs attention. The RA is also responsible for managing partner sites (e.g., schools) to ensure the data collected meets the stratification requirements specified in the Research Plan. The RA alerts the Research Director or Coordinators of any barriers as they occur but day-to-day works under minimal supervision. The RA provides weekly summaries to the Director and contributes to budgeting and project planning, or other duties assigned by the Director.


Qualifications


  • Must be digitally literate, with the ability to use digital communication tools such as video conferencing, and to use digital development tools and to understand the issues and requirements of offering products in a digital format.
  • Excellent spoken and written French and English are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive personal data and maintaining the security of PII.
  • The candidate should be flexible, energetic, organized, able to execute on prioritized activities, and knows what those priorities are.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities will be the most heavily weighed qualifications.
  • Preference will be given to individuals with a Master’s degree in Psychology or Education or a relevant area. A specialization in school psychology, psychometrics, educational psychology or in measurement and evaluation would be an asset. However, any candidate who has a degree in psychology and/or experience in the education field with experience either in research or in the administration of psychometric tests will also be considered. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-3 years relevant experience in the field of psychology and/or psychological measurement, and/or education, will also be considered.
  • Traditional technology-related skills including proficiency in MS Office tools, social media platform experience an asset.
  • Experience working in a research context is an asset.
