Job Details
Position Title: Professor/Program Coordinator, Bachelor of Health Science Workplace Health and Wellness
Status: Full Time
Faculty/Department: Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellness
Campus/Location: North Campus
Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.
What You Will Do
The successful candidate will be required to teach a variety of courses in the Bachelor of Health Science Workplace Health and Wellness Program along with supporting the program as the program coordinator. Subject areas may include a variety of courses within physical and psychological health and wellness space. The successful candidate will be a champion of collaboration & interprofessional education and practice.
The incumbent will teach, develop curriculum, design/revise specific courses, create an effective and innovative learning environment for our students, assess student progress and achievement; work collaboratively with colleagues, participate in committees and related associations. Teaching will be assigned at both the North and Lakeshore campuses and may include teaching at the International Graduate School (Toronto).
The program coordinator role is a three-year term. In this role the Program Coordinator will contribute to: curriculum development; lesson planning; assessing student progress and achievement; and class management. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective learning environment and work as a collaborative team member. In addition, the successful applicant will be expected to play an active role in student advising, student recruitment, and graduate placement. The candidate will be expected to further develop community partnerships, as well as participate on Humber College/Departmental committees and advance college initiatives. The incumbent will also contribute to the overall direction of the program, assisting with the promotion and marketing of the program, and developing and maintaining strong industry ties.

The successful candidate will have a relevant Master’s degree (preference given to PhDs) in the following sectors:

Experience & Skills
Incumbent requires a minimum of 5 years related industry experience including 3 years of teaching experience.

  • Strong knowledge and application of current andragogical principles
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and support students
  • Experience managing classroom dynamics
