Piping/Mechanical Estimator Jobs

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Piping/Mechanical Estimator to support our Midstream and Oilsands divisions.
The Estimator will support the development, pricing and submissions of accurate and competitive Proposals meeting company and Client requirements. Tasks will include, but not be limited to: material and activity takes-offs, estimate template creation/completion, interfacing with vendors and subcontractors, as well as constant communication with clients and OCL stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Estimating Manager, the Estimator will lead and support all bid estimating activity in accordance to client specifications and requirements. Working with various business unit leads, the Estimator will develop bid and subcontracting strategies that align with the core principles of our clients and all applicable stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of subcontractor RFQ packages and provide an evaluation of all bids received
• Understand the overall scope of each assigned RFP
• Conduct formal review meetings for each assigned RFP including pre-bid coordination, discipline review, senior management review, and corporate review
• Estimating, proposal coordination and closing of assigned RFP’s
• Work with and advise senior management regarding estimates and proposals for assigned RFP’s
• Work with management in the production of labour & material take-offs for each discipline
• Coordination of vendor and sub-contractor requirements
• Oversee the preparation of all proposal documentation for each assigned RFP
• Participate in the development of systems for estimating, progress and productivity tracking
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, review processes, and post-bid clarifications

Requirements

• Experience with estimating software such as InEight (Hard Dollar) is asset.
• Ability to review and understand Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project schedules.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Field experience in coordination and/or supervisory roles is an asset.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with clients and stakeholders
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Mechanical Engineering Technology (CET) or Construction Engineering Technology (CET) or;
• Minimum 5 years Piping/Mechanical Construction experience with a Post Secondary Diploma/Accreditation in:
• Sound knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Google Sheets.
• Mechanical Engineering (EIT or P. Eng) or;
• Mechanical/Piping Engineering Design & Drafting (CET) or;
• Other similar/related programs
