Job Title: Field Piping Engineer


Department: Engineering


Job Overview:


Responsible for ensuring latest drawings and specifications are being followed, reporting fabrication progress, reviewing JSA’s, Method Statement and Work Execution Plans. Reviewing physical progress with overall Clients Schedule requirements and reporting on any slippage or potential concerns back through the Yard Fabrication Lead. Working closely with the Clients Yard Material Manager to ensure all material is readily available for planned work activities.


Responsible for coordination of Request for Information RFI’s / Site Technical Queries STQ’s generated by the fabricator either by direct response or back to the Module Lead and Project Engineering Manager for Home Office support. Supports management of site, mark up of drawings and ensuring As-builts drawings generated by fabricator are clearly communicated to all necessary parties.


Inclusive of the above responsible for overseeing piping Progress and delivery of fit up, welding, torque and tensioning, NDT, blasting and painting, insulation, field activities, pipe support installation, and ensuring alignment with AFC drawings and specifications. Further working closely with QALead and Yard Material Manager to ensure the availability of material for planned scope. When equipment scope is reasonable will oversee equipment installation and handling.


Responsibilities and Duties:


  • Review Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s), Method Statements and Work Execution Plans.
  • Provide routine fabrication progress reports and raise potential issues or concerns to the Yard Fabrication Lead.
  • Facilitate proper marking up of drawings and manage As-built drawings communication to all necessary parties.
  • Oversee equipment installation and handling when necessary.
  • Coordinate with the QA Lead and Yard Material Manager to guarantee timely material availability.
  • Ensure all design specifications, drawings, and technical documentation are current and adhered to during fabrication processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Clients Yard Material Manager to ensure all materials are readily available for planned work activities.
  • Ensure alignment of all processes and installations with AFC drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate the response and management of Request for Information (RFI’s) / Site Technical Queries (STQ’s) generated by the fabricator.
  • Oversee pipe support installation and ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Oversee the production and delivery of fit-up, welding, torque and tensioning, non-destructive testing (NDT), blasting, painting, and insulation field activities.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in piping design and engineering, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related industries.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in using piping software and tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong technical and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and standards in the industry.
  • Certified Piping Engineer by a recognized institution is a plus.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of piping systems, specifications, and regulations.


Physical Requirements:


  • May need to lift, carry or move objects of moderate weight.
  • The job requires regular site visits and therefore physical fitness to navigate these environments safely is essential.


Work Conditions:


  • Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary.
  • Job involves extensive work at field sites with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • May require traveling to various project sites.
