If you are committed to excellence, we invite you to join our experienced team as a Payroll & HR Administrator.


Team & Culture


As an experienced administrator, you are an organized professional with a great eye for detail. You will carry out the traditional payroll function tasks for a small division of DENT and work collaboratively with the Payroll Coordinator to support the larger scope of payroll for the parent company. Your primary function will be the processing of payroll on a bi-weekly basis and will include working collaboratively with the People & Culture department in the collection and processing of employee documentation among other standard administrative tasks. This will include onboarding and offboarding functions, Health benefits and Group RRSP details, and staying responsive to administrative requests from different departments.


Duties:


  • Oversee and review time collection in the field reporting software ensuring complete and accurate time entry.
  • Produce regular labor cost reports for the management team.
  • Complete payroll for approx. 20-25 employees.
  • Produce annual T4 and all other required reporting.
  • Provide support to the Payroll Coordinator as needed.
  • Reconcile job costs to payroll expenses and maintain accurate employee unit costs.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department as needed.
  • Help manage the general mailboxes for Payroll & HR inquiries
  • Process biweekly payroll and submit all remittances.


Expectations


  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll requirements
  • Experience with payroll system implementation
  • Canadian Payroll Association certification is preferred
  • Experienced working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change under pressure
  • A passion for problem-solving, and being extremely detail-oriented
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, ADP Workforce Now, and HCSS Heavy Job considered an asset
  • Proven experience using Excel at an advanced level
  • Demonstrated payroll processing experience


Qualifications


  • Working in a unionized construction environment is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in a similar setting
  • Proactive problem solver
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (advanced in Excel) and accounting software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ADP Workforce experience is considered an asset


Candidates will be subject to a satisfactory police information check and credit check.


Salary Range: $55,000 - $60,000
