We’re looking for a Payroll Accountant. The work location for this position is North America, and it is considered a fully Remote role.

The Opportunity

The Payroll Accountant for North America manages and performs payroll accounting for North America, including United States, Canada, Mexico, and Panama. The Staff Accountant will serve as a liaison between payroll, benefits, and accounting to ensure proper accounting for payroll, taxes, and benefits in compliance with accounting principles.

In This Role You’ll

• Projects and Other Accounting Duties: Support projects impacting payroll accounting and other accounting duties as identified and assigned
• Reporting: Manage quarterly and annual reporting requirements such as annual Census Bureau reporting
• Compliance: Comply with all accounting rules and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring SOPs reflect current operational practices and accounting rules; support quarterly and year-end audits
• Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams, including Human Resources, Finance, and Accounting
• Payroll Accounting: Prepare timely payroll journal entries and maintain payroll account reconciliations in compliance with month-end deadlines

Here’s What You Bring

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent time management and organizational skills while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Curious with a continuous improvement mindset
• Proven experience using advanced accounting software (e.g. Oracle, Great Plains)
• Minimum 2+ years’ related experience in payroll accounting
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
• Collaborator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
