Responsibilities

• Research guidance on accounting and tax issues.
• Respond to CRA queries, government registrations and other related matters.
• Supervise, coach and mentor junior staff members and offshore team.
• Assist with preparing Forecasts and Cash Flow analysis for clients as part of Advisory services.
• Provide basic tax planning advice and scenarios for clients.
• Review, prepare and present month-end reports to clients.
• Review, prepare and file GST/HST/PST returns.
• Review and Prepare full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients.
• Provide top notch support to your clients’ questions.
• Review and prepare Compilation Engagements and Corporate tax returns.
• Ensure appropriate documentation of standard operating procedures for your clients.

Qualifications and Skills

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting software, such as Xero, Quickbooks Online,Dext, Hubdoc and Tax software such as iFirm, Taxprep or Profile.
• Team player, energetic and highly motivated with a desire to learn.
• Working knowledge of Canadian taxation rules.
• MUST HAVE - Minimum 2 years experience in a public accounting firm in the accounting/tax role.
• Proactive problem solver with a customer centric focus.
• Excellent organizational skills, takes accountability and ability to multitask competing priorities.
