Purpose

The senior accountant will support and collaborate with Sunny Corner’s existing team of accounting professionals in all duties that may apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process.
• Offer recommendations for improvement and implement new processes.
• Monitor general ledger account balances for accuracy & reconcile any discrepancies.
• Accumulate and consolidate all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.
• Develop and monitor business performance metrics.
• Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
• Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance.
• Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.
• Assist in coordinating activities of external auditors.
• Lead the existing shared services team (train, mentor, evaluate performance etc.)
• Assist in coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
• Assist in managing budget processes.

Qualifications

• Strong MS Excel
• 3+ years of accounting experience & 1+ years of accounting management experience.
• Educational background to include a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or in pursuit of CPA designation.
• Experience with Sage300 & Sirius would be considered an asset.
• A passion for client management and exceptional communication skills.
