Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Fire Chief, this position is responsible for the supervision of the BRFA Administrative Staff and overseeing all administrative functions. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to ensuring that all administrative and financial functions are completed accurately and in a timely fashion. This position is also responsible for assisting in the organization of public education, course registrations, as well as other related administrative duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems as well as responding to customer inquiries and maintaining good customer relations.

Responsibilities include:


·Manages all administrative functions: accounts payables, receivables, audit, financial reports, etc.

·Manages all Human Resources functions: payroll, recruitment, insurance, policies, disability management, FOIP, etc., excluding Labour Relations.

·Manages fleet insurance, registration, and fuel cards.

·Manages administration and coordination of meetings, including preparing and distributing meeting packages, agendas, and minutes.

·Generates monthly/annual fire statistics reports.

·Manages the administration of all BRFA Mutual Aid, 911, Industrial, Municipal, and service agreements/contracts.

·Maintaining BRFA Society registration.

Education and Experience:


·Minimum 10 years office experience, combined with 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible management role.

·Post-secondary education in business administration, public administration, commerce, or other related degree programs.

·Preference given to those with CHRP designation.

·Knowledge of WCB, payroll, benefits and disability management processes.

·Able to maintain filing systems, databases, and minutes management.

·Meticulous records maintenance skills.

·Enhanced security clearance and current driver’s abstract will be required.
