Noze has digitized the sense of smell. We’ve done for the nose what the camera did for the eyes and the microphone did for the ears. It took six years and some help from NASA, but we did it. Now it’s time for us to bring it to the world.
Are you interested in testing and characterization of Noze’s Aroma sensor chips and devices? Do you have training in novel sensor materials and thin films? If the prospect of applying lab automation tools to collect and analyze characterization data for advanced materials appeals to you then this job is for you.
People who succeed at Noze have a sense of urgency, a ton of initiative, infinite curiosity, a strong internal drive, and an enthusiasm for bleeding-edge tech. If you’re bursting with fresh ideas and want to join a company in its journey to change the status quo, then this opportunity is for you!
Who you are:
You are a hands-on advanced materials engineer who is very well trained in advanced characterization techniques. You will be a part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists where you’ll play a key role in the design and development of aroma sensor devices. If you enjoy being part of a team that tackles a range of technical challenges across areas such as chemo-electric sensors, advanced sensing materials, IOT architecture, and Artificial Intelligence, then this could be the place where you can utilize your experience to have a direct impact on the growth and development of our products.
What you will do:
- Collaborate closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team to characterize thin film chemical sensor materials and architectures, tailored to specific odor sensing applications.
- Apply advanced characterization techniques, including dynamic light scattering, rheology, and FTIR spectroscopy, to gain deep insights into the physical, chemical, and electrical properties of our sensor materials and sensor thin films.
- Stay at the forefront of thin film sensor technology advancements through continuous research, experimentation, and innovation, contributing to the development of intellectual property.
- Engage in productive collaboration with diverse teams, including chemists, materials scientists, and AI engineers, ensuring effective communication and documentation of findings, methodologies, and results.
- Employ advanced data processing and analysis techniques to derive meaningful insights and trends from large volumes of sensor data, driving continuous improvement in sensor performance and algorithm development.
- Conduct comprehensive performance evaluations of thin film sensors, pushing the boundaries of sensitivity, selectivity, stability, and response time, using cutting-edge experimental protocols.
What you need:
- Excel in processing and analyzing large datasets using statistical software packages (e.g. Python), with a passion for data visualization tools
- Thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, where creativity, flexibility, and a proactive mindset are key.
- Possess strong analytical skills, leveraging advanced characterization techniques (e.g. FTIR spectroscopy) to unlock the secrets of thin film materials and their structure-property relationships.
- Hold a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Embrace emerging technologies, demonstrate a hunger for continuous learning, and excel at adapting to evolving research objectives and priorities.
- Possess excellent interpersonal skills, thriving in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrate 3 plus years of experience in the development and characterization of thin film chemical sensors, ideally within a startup or fast-paced research environment.
