Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE…

The Bone & Biscuit Co. is seeking an experienced Manager, Brand Strategy & Marketing to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager, Brand Strategy & Marketing is quintessential to the future of the brand by creating and executing strategies that sway consumers’ perception based on their feelings and connection to their pet and healthy lifestyles. With storytelling, strategic insights and market data, the position will actively shape the Bone & Biscuit Co. brand to drive awareness and customer loyalty. The focus for this position is placing the consumer and their pet/s at the core behind the brand & marketing strategy and prioritizing programs with the highest return potential. These strategies and activities will be across multiples channels and continue to lead the way for the brand and Company’s growth.

The role will be located in Kelowna, BC at The Bone & Biscuit Co. headquarters.

A professional communicator with the ability to positively influence others, stay calm under pressure, and demonstrate social and emotional awareness. You are the key interface for the brand and marketing across internal and external partners. Backed by a strong understanding of market and consumer insights, you are confident in making recommendations and driving brand and marketing strategies. Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Effectiveness

  • Lead brand campaign development (corporate website, store websites, social media platforms, store promotions, and other forms of advertising) and partner with external agencies on brand campaign creative strategy, production, editing, and approvals.
  • Improve brand consistency and recognition through creation of centralized brand guidelines.
  • Oversee and maintain SEO performance, working with external agencies to find new opportunities for improvement.
  • Leverage market/consumer insights and intelligence to develop a brand strategy and translate into integrated marketing plans and customer experiences.


Marketing

  • Serve as the marketing “go-to” contact for franchisees; Coordinate the creation of a library of static and video content available to franchisees to utilize for their own social media platforms.
  • Develop and manage a marketing calendar of activities.
  • Coordinate with external agency teams on the execution and implementation of the brand’s Canada marketing strategy.


Budgeting & Business Planning

  • Create and measure KPI’s to optimize and maximize the ROI and drive brand awareness for all marketing campaigns.
  • Manage the network marketing budget.


Leadership & Collaboration

  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with partners, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular research and share information internally on best practices and trends in brand marketing to support growth.
  • Work closely with the internal Products team to provide feedback and insight on product campaigns and promotions to ensure alignment with the brand strategy.


YOU HAVE…

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • 7+ years of brand strategy or agency experience leading marketing projects.
  • Budget planning and project management experience.
  • Strong writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • University degree in marketing or related field required.
  • Pet, retail, lifestyle brand experience preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office.
  • Knowledge and experience with different brand and marketing functions (eg. Digital marketing, social media, content strategy, etc.); Strong understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) and SEO best practices.
  • Willing to travel and work flexible hours, as required.
