Job Description
A national sales manager oversees the overall sales objectives, goals and revenue of all the teams and sales personnel they supervise. They may also manage other regional or division managers across the country. They often travel to manage their various teams and attend conferences to learn new sales methods.


National sales managers complete a variety of other leadership responsibilities, including :


  • Managing sales budgets
  • Reviewing marketing inadequacies and adjusting plans
  • Approving and managing large client contracts
  • Networking with potential business partners and clients
  • Creating presentations for business partners, corporate executives and shareholders
  • Preparing timely sales forecasts and reports
  • Recognizing and rewarding top sales producers
  • Recruiting, hiring and training new employees
  • Tracking and analyzing sales data to find strengths and weaknesses
  • Developing and implementing sales procedures and policies
  • Using market data, statistics and trends to establish sales goals
