Interim VP – Operational Transformation
Reports To: CEO
Duration: 6 – 12 months
Location: Toronto, ON
Hybrid working
Our client is a high-profile multi-site health service provider. They are looking for a seasoned leader to add key expertise and capacity to their executive team as they implement an enterprise-wide transformation. This assignment is focused on identifying cost and quality opportunities across their operational and administrative functions improving the quality of services that they offer. This is both a strategic and tactical role as you will be helping review various ways to improve the efficiency of the organization alongside partnering with senior management to execute the agreed-upon initiatives.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support process reviews and implementation of best practices.
- Use structured analysis to assess and mitigate risk.
- Responsible for weekly updates to key leaders across the business. Must create and communicate progress in a way that builds confidence and demonstrates continued progress toward a world-class organization and operation.
- Review and provide analysis on opportunities to outsource activities to improve cost-effectiveness and improve service levels. Lead the execution of agreed outcomes.
- Identify and remove obstacles that may interfere with success.
- Review the organizational structures looking for efficiencies. Work through agreed changes with the staff and leadership teams to create a more cost-efficient organization.
- Work with the team to develop new strategic initiatives and business guidance/directions to address any of the gaps in place. Ensure that all initiatives are actionable with a clear roadmap for execution aligned with the overall strategic direction of the business.
- Drive internal and external benchmarking and competitive analysis.
- Develop an effective governance structure to support the successful completion and implementation of each transformation project.
- Work with the CIO to review opportunities to automate and utilize technology more effectively across the organization.
- Coordinate programs with business leadership, identifying priority when there are multiple program builds.
- Support process assessments and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with the leadership team to assess all operational and administrative functions providing key analysis and insights outlining ways to reduce cost and improve service levels.
- Develop and deploy mechanisms for monitoring performance and progress in achieving successful outcomes throughout the various stages of the transformation, including the impacts on those individuals affected by change.
- Lead the Transformation and manage key leadership relationships to ensure alignment across the enterprise to ensure appropriate planning, execution, visibility, tracking, and governance to enhance implementation success rates.
- Drive identification and implementation of tools that support process automation and improvements.
- Ensure that the overall initiatives plan/roadmap is aligned with the business's financial targets and deliverables. Support ideations and project scoping to address and communicate gaps to ensure full alignment on mid to long-term targets.
- Effectively facilitates large and small group engagement and strategy sessions to gather input and formulate project or business plans. Presents results and findings to relevant groups, including internal and external senior executives.

- Strong process optimization background.
- Well-organized and capable of managing numerous competing priorities.
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including project planning, management, and team building.
