JB DESCRIPTION
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Immigration Specialist & Researcher holds a vital role within the company, focusing on the management and execution of immigration-related activities. The position carries a significant emphasis on research, ensuring that all immigration procedures align with current laws and regulations. By maintaining up-to-date knowledge and implementing best practices, the Immigration Specialist & Researcher contributes to the company's overall compliance and success in the field of immigration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The key responsibilities include but are not exclusive to the following:
- Assessing, handling, and processing from beginning to end a different array of cases, including economic, family & business immigration, by following the on-boarding and processing workflows of the company.
- Pre-assessment and consultationwith leads & clients
- Generation of immigration options and action plans tailored to the client’s needs and situation.
- Handling of administrative tasks to support client’s onboarding process (retainer agreement preparation, proposal submission, invoice creation, etc.)
- Collection and revision of documents and data prior to submission of final application
- Communication with clients to obtain required/ missing documentation or advise on required changes to documentation previously submitted
- Mining the client’s file for information and following up on outstanding information
- Preparation of all documents and applications for the client
- Communication with clients for status updates throughout the lifecycle of their application (and/or through the sales representative)
- Conducting online research on the Government or provincial websites, LexisNexis, and other industry resources in order to device effective strategies for common and more complex cases.
- Managing enquiries, correspondence, and application processing for Citizenship Investment Programs outside of Canada and other non-Canadian immigration programs.
- Meeting and greeting prospective applicants, visitors, and clients in person at the office, when necessary, while following social distancing guidelines and safety of all concerned parties.
- Correspond with potential online leads on pre-assessment, proposals, and immigration matters prior of conversion to paying clients.
- Following up on proposals and estimates sent to applicants/leads and reporting back to the manager/supervisor.
- Drafting submission/ cover letters, working off precedents when appropriate or writing documents from scratch.
- Draft business plans that are related to business immigration.
- Corresponding with the government on behalf of the clients and the RCIC regarding their applications.
- Leveraging government/ provincial resources to ensure processes are current and appropriate documents are being used.
- Full accountability of assigned elements of a file or application
- Checking client ledger to determine if any disbursements must be billed out. Tracking file progress against retainer to send a billing request to accounting, once certain milestones are reached with the client
- Ensuring that timelines and deadlines are diarized and met including expiry dates and other key dates by recording all progress and milestones in the CRM for all client files.
- Scheduling appointments through SetMore, Google Calendar, Zoom and/or others for meetings with clients, agents, sales representatives, and overseas offices.
- Assisting in providing content for the company’s social media and websites based on policy changes and requests from the marketing department.
- Creating content for the company newsletters, articles, blogs, etc.
- Participating in online and other in-person events hosted or participated by the company.
- Participating in the making of video content.
- Keeping updated and help educate staff members on new policies and changes announced by the Canadian or provincial governments.
- Monitoring emails from industry associations and regulatory bodies (i.e. CAPIC & ICCRC) for updates on regulatory changes, continuing education, continuing professional development (CPD’s), events (Webinars) and in-person conference registrations, networking opportunities, and other resources.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
· Research Expertise: Proven experience in conducting comprehensive research on immigration laws, policies, and regulations. Familiarity with various research methodologies, tools, and databases specific to immigration studies.It will be tested during the interview process.
· Excellent verbal and written English skills.They will be tested during the interview process.A second language is highly preferred.
· Analytical Skills:Ability to analyze complex immigration data, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable insights.It will be tested during the interview process.
· RCIC license (in good standing with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council) is highly preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years related experience working as Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.
· Extensive knowledge of Canadian immigration policies and regulations & the various pathways for immigration to Canada is mandatory.
· Excellent computer skills and tech savvy.
· Great customer service and people skills and demonstrate cross-cultural awareness.
· Must possess excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
· Must have strong organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
· Demonstrated ability to work as a team player, commitment to clients success and the capacity to handle a busy workload
· Must be self-driven, a proactive thinker and have a high level of initiative as this position is fully remote, with only occasional in-office meetings.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $52,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
