Job Summary:
Provides overall strategic, human resources leadership for the Company byplanning, organizing, developing and implementing human resources policies and programs andservices---employment, benefits, compensation, performance management, safety and health, training,communications, employee services, employee relations and compliance with all provincial andfederal regulations.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain current knowledge and understanding of human resources issues, regulations, trends andcurrent priorities.
- Translate the strategic and tactical HR business plans into human resources and operationalplans.
- Acts as a senior level adviser to all employees on all HR issues, employee relations.
- Administer appropriate human resources policies to improve organizationaleffectiveness.
- Administer the Company’s performance management program for all employee levels to improveproductivity, teamwork, communication, and employee relations.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
- Ensure compliance on a Canadian level, while understanding the nuances within eachregion.
- Administer training needs and deliver suitable training for employee development.
- Oversee the recruiting and selection programs to attract and retain the most qualified employeesfor all regular and temporary positions.
- Oversee and administer compensation and benefits programs as required by HR Team andrequirements.
- Ensure compliance with Alberta Employment Legislation, Human Rights and Canadian EmploymentStandards.
- Participate in the development of the company’s plans and programs as these plans relateto the impact on human resources.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
Advanced degree in Human Resources certifications preferred.
Experience: 5 - 10 years’ or more experience in a human resources capacity.
Skill Requirements: High-level knowledge of human resources concepts, practices and procedures.
Effective planner, organizer with leadership skills. Strong oral and written communication
abilities with presentation skills. Ability to perform in a multi-facet environment. Strong
interpersonal skills. Computer and software skills. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior
level leaders to achieve business objectives using HR strategies, operations and tactics.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible with changing demands, multi-task and prioritize projects. The
