Description
Under the general direction of the Manager, HRIS Training & Projects the incumbent is responsible for coordinating front-line support for end users of HR systems and supporting HR business process projects.
The HR Information Systems Support Advisor is the primary point of contact for all HRIS users requiring technical support at the University. As the primary support person, the incumbent provides specific technical and non-technical guidance to staff while maintaining defined standards and excellence in customer service. The HR Information Systems Support Advisor is responsible for analyzing HRIS help requests, logging and responding to or redirecting the inquiries, and supporting HRIS training as required.
HR Information Systems Support Advisor will carry out other initiatives and daily activities within the People Strategy, Equity & Culture that require knowledge of confidential information impacting staff in all employee groups.
Qualfiications Required
I. EDUCATION:
University degree required. SAP HCM certification or Payroll Practitioner (PCP) from the Canadian Payroll Association an asset or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ii. Experience
Minimum two to three years’ related HR and Payroll experience required. Working knowledge of University policies and procedures as they relate to human resource and finance and payroll. Experience with usability and web design principles, including user focus groups and user needs assessments.
Iii. Skills
Expert knowledge of SAP HCM (HRIS) and other administrative management systems. Familiarity with SuccessFactors suite of products. Proficient use of Microsoft Office, spreadsheet, and databases. Advanced knowledge of learning management systems, technology-enhanced learning solutions, as well as a range of computer applications, web authoring software, social media, and web-based visualization and collaboration tools.
Iv. Other
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical users (written and oral) with strong analytical and problem-solving ability; strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to conduct training sessions and instruct others; excellent organizational skills; write clear, concise procedural and technical documentation; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to deal with multiple demands and to allocate time and priorities efficiently and effectively.
