SCOPE OF THE JOB
We are looking for an HR Director who will lead all aspects of human resources while reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This role will act as a strategic partner and work closely with the leadership team as well as managers and employees from our headoffice and showrooms across Canada. As we continue to build our business and grow the number of employees, this role is responsible for all HR strategy, programs, policies and processes, this includes talent management, organizational development, total rewards, employee relations, payroll and health and safety. We are looking for an experienced HR leader, that is passionate about the employee journey, and knows how to balance the needs of the business and the needs of the people.
Responsibilities And Tasks
  • Ensure consistent communication and application of our HR practices, policies and programs.
  • Lead all aspects of HR related topics and programs, including organizational development, recruitment, performance management, employee relations, health and safety, and policy development and compliance.
  • Review and analyze data to identify trends and recommend solutions to business challenges, improve performance, retention, and employee experience.
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with leaders and employees to act as a consultant, to identify their needs and have open and honest conversations.
  • Lead total compensation strategy, development of benefit programs and salary ranges.
  • Ensure current and accurate employee data and reporting, as well as compliance with any payroll audits that may arise because of regulatory, internal, and external audits.
  • Oversee ongoing delivery of accurate, timely and precise payroll for head office and showroom employees including payment of bonuses and commission programs.
  • Ad hoc duties as assigned when required.
  • Manage headoffice and showroom headcount, HR budget and reporting.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction to members of the HR team, including coaching and developing team members.
  • Advocate for employees and remind leaders of the impact of their decisions on their people.
  • Create, implement, and monitor employee policies and procedures to ensure compliance of federal and provincial employment legislation as well as VinFast and VinGroup requirements.
  • Resolve all HR related questions, concerns and issues as well as develop and implement new programs which support the organizations culture.
What Are We Looking For
  • Occupational Health and Safety certification and previous experience leading an OH&S program is an asset.
  • Exercise a high degree of professionalism and diplomacy in interactions with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient with Excel and Word.
  • Proven experience in all aspects of Human Resource Management, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, leadership development and training.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable within a rapid and changing work environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; able to identify issues, propose solutions, and implement appropriate changes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and follows through on commitments.
  • Human Resources experience supporting 150 or more employees, hourly or retail employee client groups and/or automotive dealership experience is preferred.
  • Empathetic leader with ability to develop credible and trusted relationships.
  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or relevant program, CHRP designation would be an asset.
  • Solutions focused, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
  • Passion for creating a positive employee culture and experience.
  • Proven working knowledge of all provincial and federal employment standards, regulations and laws; establishes appropriate controls to ensure compliance with processes, guidelines, company policy, legislative and regulatory requirements. Multi-jurisdiction experience is preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive human resource experience including prior experience as an HR and people manager.
  • Previous experience leading the HR function is an asset.
