Join our dynamic and passionate Human Resources team as an HR Coordinator, where you'll play a crucial role in supporting various HR functions and creating exceptional employee experiences. Working alongside a knowledgeable and supportive HR/Payroll team of six, you'll have the chance to grow your career in a values-driven environment. We value your existing HR administration experience, and we'll provide extensive training to help you develop new skills and broaden your expertise in different areas of HR.
In this role, you'll enjoy a hybrid work arrangement, allowing you to work both remotely and attend our physical office at 200 Granville Street for training and probationary period.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
You'll play a key role in assisting with new hire documentation, pre-employment testing, reference checks, the Employee Referral Program and completing new hire onboarding. Additionally, you'll support the Talent Acquisition Specialist with ensuring a smooth recruitment and onboarding process.
Employee Relations:
As the gatekeeper of our HR email inbox, you'll direct incoming emails appropriately and respond to employee inquiries. You'll also communicate performance appraisal touchpoints, provide training and follow-ups, track Leaves of Absence and Work Permits, administer WorkSafe BC forms and claims, and manage termination checklists and exit interviews. Your attention to detail will help maintain office HR compliance, and you'll play a vital role in keeping our Associate Handbooks up to date.
Employee Engagement:
Collaborating with Marketing, you'll work on engaging content for our bi-weekly newsletter and other HR announcements. You'll oversee our service recognition program, contribute to planning and facilitating employee events, and lead diversity and social purpose initiatives. Furthermore, you'll support our efforts to build our BC employer brand through compelling content.
Other Duties:
You'll have the opportunity to contribute to HR analytics and metrics, providing valuable insights to inform decision-making. Additionally, you'll lend a hand with benefits administration and payroll, ensuring our employees receive the support they need.
Experience:
To succeed in this role, you'll need a minimum of 1 year of experience as an HR Administrator/Coordinator or in a similar position. Familiarity with BC Employment Standards applied to employee relations is essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders are crucial. We value a team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
Candidates with a CHPR designation or those working towards it will be given preference. Moreover, individuals with post-secondary education in Human Resources or a directly related field will be prioritized.
