Job Description
Job Title: HR Coordinator


Status: Full-time, Permanent


Location: Burlington, ON


Department: Human Resources


This position involves administering human resources policies, processes, programs, and practices. Reporting to the HR Manager, the individual in this position will support the recruitment process, group benefits, and various employee engagement and health and safety initiatives.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Recruitment: support managers in their hiring process.
  • Policy and Procedures: Oversee the review and maintenance, and communicate updates to the HR handbook, ensuring all policies and processes are written in a manner that represents the values of IRC
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain records of personnel and volunteer-related data (personal information, leaves, signed documents etc.)
  • Benefits: Administer group benefits and paid time off and respond to employee inquiries
  • Health and Safety: Support the implementation of the Health and Safety policy and procedures. Be part of the JHSC and coordinate initiatives and training.
  • Data Collection and analysis: Review and compile HR metrics in order to support with strategic decision making
  • Office Management: Assist in office management and organization procedures
  • Asset Management: Collaborate with the IT team to support asset management
  • Onboarding: Oversee the onboarding process to welcome new colleagues and orient them on all aspects of their roles as well as IRC’s core values


Qualifications & Competencies


  • Adaptable to a fast paced, ad-hoc environment
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety protocols
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • CHRP designation (or candidate) is an asset.
  • A min of 1 year related experience in HR, preferably in the NGO/Charity industry
  • A College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related Resources field required
  • Solid organizational and problem solving skills.
  • An ability to exercise good judgment, tact and maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete many competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills ( written and oral)
