We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Human Resources team and be a part of the excitement and growth at The Descartes Systems Group Inc! As part of Descartes’ operations, Human Resources (HR) enables our employees and business units on a global scale. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our North American HR team, which supports just over 1,000 employees throughout the U.S. and Canada. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide general support to the North American Human Resources team and assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.
Responsibilities
Below outlines the Human Resources Coordinator’s responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Team Support
  • Support all internal HR related inquiries or requests where applicable.
  • Support in maintaining HR communication tools such as SharePoint, company newsletters, and Yammer.
  • Maintain training records and assign required training to employees.
  • Assist with administrative tasks required following any acquisitions in Canada or US, such as collecting employee documents, file uploads, integration plan tracking, data entry.
  • Participate in various Human Resources engagement initiatives and projects in support of Company goals.
  • Respond to Company audit requests and assist in annual HR audits including verification of accuracy in employee files.
  • Create memos for North American employees during annual salary and bonus reviews.
  • Liaise between the Centres of Excellence within the HR team to ensure operational excellence in administrative functions.
  • Assist with data entry and updates in the HRIS, SuccessFactors.
  • Assist with employee meetings and presentations.
  • Respond to employee requests for verification of employment letters.
Recruitment Support
  • Lead and coordinate the co-operative/internship program in Canada.
  • Provide support to the Recruitment Team (e.g., advertise job postings, employment offer creation, assist with onboarding new employees including the criminal background checks and orientation program scheduling).
Qualifications
  • CHRP designation or pursuing CHRP is an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Resourceful, strong attention to detail and excellent time-management skills.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field
  • Highly organized, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment managing multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to interact and build professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong technical skills are required, including sensitivity to confidential information.

Location
Located in our headquarters, Waterloo, Ontario. We have transitioned to a hybrid model and we are continuing to interview remotely during this time. This role will be remote however may be required to attend the Waterloo office when needed.
