The Role
We are currently recruiting an HR Coordinator to join our HR team to support our corporate office and field based staff. This role is based out of the Edmonton, Head Office and reports into the Director, People and Culture. The ideal candidate has onboarding/orientation experience in construction and/or oil and gas and thrives in a fast paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare employment offers/DSP contracts
  • Maintain HR records by recording new hire information updates, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, tracking company assets issued to employees, etc.
  • Data entry, data clean up in our HRIS
  • Order business cards
  • Assist new hires with onboarding related questions related to new hire documentation including, education/trade certification, required safety tickets, WCB clearance, tax form questions, job information (wage, rotation, LOA, camp vs. non-camp, etc,).
  • Order office supplies
  • Event preparation, set up and tear down
  • Administer criminal record checks following up as required
  • Set up offices for new hires
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director, People & Culture
  • Reception duties as required
  • Answer questions pertaining to safety ticket and site orientations using Bistrainer to send and organize tickets and orientation documents.
  • Work with the Recruiter and HR team to understand the Company’s recruitment needs
  • Organize and administer new hire onboarding on behalf of the hiring manager, working with the onsite Project Administrator
  • Enter paper files into our database - assist with the movement to electronic record keeping
  • Approve, edit and upload safety tickets, driver’s abstracts and drug and alcohol clearance letters as required to Bistrainer.
  • Submit New hire Request Form to IT. Work with IT to ensure computers, company cells, etc. are ready for new hires to pick up at the Edmonton office
Requirements
  • Experience working with BambooHR, BisTrainer, Eclipse software considered an asset
  • Must have excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of CLAC union considered an asset
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Working towards a Human Resources Degree/Diploma from a recognized University/College is preferred
  • Able to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Thrives under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - in person, over the phone, email, text
  • Sound working knowledge of Word, Excel, Google Drive and Gmail
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of Human Resources or administrative experience preferably in onboarding and/or dispatch.
  • Previous experience in construction and/or oil and gas industries preferred
