Dextra is a growing company specializing in Corporate Financial advisory offering fractional CFO and investment banking services to small and medium companies, from start-ups looking for strategic operational support to more established companies wanting to optimize their finances. This is a remote position (but you must be located in the GTA) and as one of the 1st employees you will have a lot of opportunities to grow with the company !
Dextra is currently looking for an FP&A associate reporting directly to the CEO. This position is based in the Greater Toronto Area (you may have to go to various locations across Toronto from time to time for clients activities).
Your responsibilities will include providing financial insights and projections to the firm’s clients directly. You will provide clients with reliable data and analysis to be used in decision-making and planning.
You will prepare accurate monthly financial reports, assist in the preparation of presentations that provide thoughtful analysis, identify action items, and effectively frame decisions that need to be made.
- Create presentations that provide insightful analysis, identify required action items, and effectively frame decisions to be made.
- Provide clients with FP&A finance support related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with business partners and clients.
- Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions.
- Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Dive deeply into financial data and become a subject matter expert to provide additional insights.
- Partner directly with clients to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
- Three years of experience in finance, accounting or a related area
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Certified public accountants (CPA)
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities and clients while maintaining a view of the big picture
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects
- General knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
- Demonstrated ability to influence others through effective verbal and written communication
- Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Experience developing financial reports and metrics
