Finance & Accounting Controller Jobs

Reporting to the Director of accounting, the main purpose of this position is to support the general accounting functions of Beiersdorf Canada, in accordance to accuracy, maintenance and interpretation of approved accounting procedures and best practices. You will ensure that business processes and procedures are executed consistent with our accounting and controlling manual, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) & Canadian legislations.
We are seeking a candidate that will not only take on the major activities but also improve and streamline processes. In doing so, this will open opportunities to expand the role into Controlling and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) support. This is a great opportunity for someone with accounting experience looking to get additional exposure to Controlling and FP&A. Main Responsibilities

• Support in the development and Annual Business Plans and Financial Forecasts (WOC, OIE, GE)
• Prepare monthly journal entries
• Optimise month-end process
• Reporting: Support preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual internal/external reports, such as corporate schedules, Revenue Canada sales tax returns, income tax returns, statistical reports, sustainability report and green fees submissions
• Support Customer Financial Services Team with TFM deductions, check requests and Coppertone seasonal returns
• Controlling FP&A Support:
• Research and solve A/P issues; provide support to vendor inquiries when necessary
• Support A/P function; work closely with 3rd party external partner; code invoices when necessary
• Procedures and studies: Conduct special studies and analysis to increase efficiencies throughout the department; review, revise, draft and recommend procedures in various areas (ex. inter-co transactions, GR/IR, audit findings, sales tax recovery, accounting health scorecard, accounting transformation scorecard etc.)
• Be on top of sales tax exceptions
• Review of general ledger accounts; analyse accounts timely and accurately to identify variances, risks and opportunities
• Support Treasury Team in various tasks
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities
• Maintain and improve internal controls: Actively participate in internal control
• Support Finance/Accounting Team
• Find efficiencies within this function
• Support Brands, Sales, and Supply Chain Controlling
• General ledger & accounting record
• Accounts Payable
• Produce, track, analyse and share analysis of general expenses, customer fines, overdues etc.

Your Profile
Base Requirements

• University degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
• Strong accounting skills
• SAP knowledge
• Bilingual
• Strong Excel skills
