About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at AtomVie Global Radiopharma (AtomVie) is a key leader responsible for all the financial and accounting functions, including financial planning and budgeting, financial analysis and reporting, financial control, cost accounting, treasury and cash management, financial audits and taxation in the context of a Canadian-based company controlled by US investors. The CFO will also manage legal aspects within the company, with the support of external counsel. The CFO is required to maintain a credible relationship with the BOD and the shareholders, the CEO, and AtomVie’s Leadership Team (LT).
The CFO has a key strategic responsibility contributing to AtomVie’s vision and business plan, facilitating growth and expansion, and supporting the delivery and successful completion of the new facility construction and transition. The CFO is also responsible for supporting the CEO, the BOD, and the LT in developing and implementing sound short and long term business strategies and decisions, studying and validating business opportunities (including M&A opportunities) by addressing potential profits and risks, and further financing as necessary through debt and equity.

What You Will Do
- Works closely with the LT to develop the annual budgets (short term, Capex & Opex) and the long-term financial plans and models, including business development forecasts, capacity plans, resources plans and budgets, and capital needs. Present and discuss with the authorized stakeholders internally and externally as directed by the BOD and/or the CEO.
- Continuously improves the departmental practices and policies to support AtomVie’s goals and to adapt with the regulations and requirements changes.
- Directs the banking relations and financial control systems to preserve and optimize the use of AtomVie’s assets.
- Regularly analyses and reports the cash flow, costs and expenses, financial statements, and operational parameters against the approved fiscal plans and budgets and the long-term strategy.
- Develops and directs the financial strategy and plan, identifies and monitors the key financial and operational metrics in alignment with AtomVie’s business vision and goals.
- Participates in selecting and developing the financial-related information systems and controls adopted by Atomvie.
- Identifies and manages AtomVie’s business and operational risks profile, including managing credit liabilities risks, operational risks, legal risks, and other. in addition, ensures maintaining the necessary insurance policies to protect AtomVie’s assets and cover its liabilities.
- Ensures the accuracy and compliance of financial and accounting reports and information provided to auditing / regulatory bodies, clients, management, and other stakeholders.
- Manages tax returns and maximizes tax credit, as applicable. Coordinates with the investors for US tax matters.
- New facility – support the delivery team and provide necessary financing to ensure the delivery of the new facility within the expected timelines and allocated budgets.
- Ensures full compliance with local, provincial, and federal reporting requirements, in addition to any other applicable requirements as mandated by the BOD.
- Works with the CEO on securing funding resources required to satisfy AtomVie’s approved plans and on implementing an exit strategy.
- Develops and implements financial and accounting audit and control procedures to guarantee the implementation of the internal controls, compliance with legal and reporting requirements, and providing accurate financial results.
- Supports the LT and department heads on strategic and critical departmental projects discussions and decision making by providing financial insights and analysis to validate and/or challenge the projects’ proposals and plans.
- Supports Business Development on client negotiations and proposal development.
- Develops and implements financial analysis and reporting structures and routines, including costs and variances analysis.
- Directs the development of efficient systems and tools to provide financial reports and analysis to the BOD and the CEO to facilitate the decision-making process in relation to the strategy, operational plans, and business development and opportunities.
- Directs, develops, and mentors a team of professionals for all aspects of finance and accounting at AtomVie, ensuring the staff retention and engagement.
Experience Necessary
- Effective attention to details, high levels of work ethics, integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and accountability.
- Demonstrated experience in leading the development of financial systems, reporting policies, and controls in a growing or changing business environment.
- Effective verbal and in-writing communication skills, presentation skills, negotiation skills, conflict management, and leadership skills.
- University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent. A master’s or an MBA degree is an asset. CPA-CA is required, CPA-US is an asset.
- Experience in implementing and/or using financial digital systems.
- 15 years’ progressive experience in financial management and strategic planning, including experience in leadership roles in a fast-growing environment. Experience in manufacturing or pharma industries is an asset.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting practices and principles, in addition to the knowledge of applicable local and federal financial and accounting regulations.
- Hands on experience in financial modelling, M&A, and business deals.
