We are looking for a competent CTO who will be our first technology go-to expert and play an integral role in setting the company’s strategic direction, development and future growth. In this position, you will oversee our overall technology development, technology utilization plan and manage all information technology resources of our company.
As the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Skip the Rose, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of our app and driving its growth. This is a unique opportunity to join our passionate and talented team as a co-founder and work for equity in the company. You will have the creative freedom to implement your vision, innovate, and make a lasting impact on how people engage our app.
Responsibilities:
- Drive innovation and continuously optimize the app to enhance user engagement and retention.
- Facilitate the development and implementation of disaster recovery and IT security failure plans.
- Manage strategic vendor and technology partner relationships.
- Manage IT resource allocation, goal/KPI setting, and performance metrics.
- Collaborate with the founding team to define the app's technical roadmap and overall product strategy.
- Implement best practices for mobile app development, user experience, and data management.
- Lead the end-to-end development and technical implementation of the Skip the Rose mobile app.
- Actively participate in fundraising efforts and investor pitches, leveraging your technical expertise.
- Oversee the design and architecture of the app, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a mobile app developer, preferably having worked on successful app projects.
- Previous startup experience is a plus, especially in a technical leadership role.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building innovative and user-centric products.
- Convert ideas and concepts into new functional features within the app.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Extensive knowledge of iOS and Android app development, including proficiency in relevant programming languages (NodeJS, Reactnative, Angular etc.).
- Strong understanding of mobile app design, user experience, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field.
- A strong sense of ownership, drive, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
Compensation:
The CTO role will be considered a co-founder and be compensation will be exclusively equity-based at this time.
Location:
This is a hybrid-remote position. While we often work remotely, we also have expectations that selected candidates will be available to work in-person, on location, in Kitchener-Waterloo on occasion.
