Grain is a Boston based start-up backed by Schneider Electric, a French multinational company committed to sustainability. By simplifying the process of removing carbon from the earth’s atmosphere, we can empower carbon project developers to do more. We combine business and science to solve the pain points of project developers, certifiers, regulators, investors, and other key market players. Together, we will make the process quick, easy, and profitable every step of the way.


We are building a team of high performers across science, business, and technology, and are looking for a candidate who has experience working on carbon offset project development.


The Role

The Carbon Project Customer Success Lead will report to the Chief Executive Officer and work closely with the Chief Commercial Officer to support commercial activities focused on project origination and customer success activities. We are looking for a candidate that has experience with multiple carbon credit methodologies across different programs or sectors.


Responsibilities

  • Support customers through their use of the Grain Platform in navigating and troubleshooting any carbon project questions and challenges they may have.
  • Champion the voice of the customer during product roadmap development and feature prioritization.
  • Provide technical insights (both carbon project development related as well as project-type specific knowledge) to support projects in overcoming deployment and operational challenges with executing carbon removal projects.
  • Support design of a project origination tool that ensures optimization of the project design and development approach
  • Structure the customer success journey to minimize the risks of failed project execution.


Experience

  • Deep understanding of at least two methodologies
  • Recently worked on developing carbon offset projects, including the development of feasibility studies, project design documents and/or verification reports.
  • Has a wide network of project owners, project developers, standards and other key voluntary carbon market (VCM) stakeholders.
  • Liaise with one or more certification bodies (VCS, Gold Standard, ACR, CAR, etc) in the voluntary carbon market
  • Experience sourcing new carbon project opportunities, including identification of new restoration land, or other types of opportunities.


Desired but not required:

  • Experience revising, editing, or creating a new methodology
  • Experience engaging with carbon offset investors and/or buyers
  • University degree in engineering, carbon science or related field
