The Canadian Press is looking for a bilingual Business Development Representative to join our team immediately in a full-time position located in Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa. This is an exciting opportunity to make a major impact at a reputable and evolving company with the potential for advancement. - CP style webinars, workshops and books on writing and editing
- Licensed news content (articles, photos, graphics, video, audio) used by clients such as The Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, La Presse, CTV, CBC, Yahoo, MSN and many more;
- Branded content (blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, photos, video, infographics), tailor made for each client’s exclusive use in their content marketing program; and,
- Provide support to and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service and Product Development teams as needed, including joining sales demos, building campaign lists and sharing customer feedback
- Develop, maintain and convert a pipeline of leads into qualified opportunities for the sales team. This includes: promptly qualifying inbound leads; identifying and prioritizing the right contacts and accounts to target in Canada; booking sales demos/meetings via a consistent volume of quality outbound activity (emails, Linkedin messages, cold calls, networking events); and, effectively using our Salesforce CRM to maintain an up-to-date pipeline with accurate customer and opportunity details, next steps and meeting dates
- Develop a strong understanding of our target markets and how to position and differentiate our products, including effectively addressing objections
- Prepare and deliver tailored pitches to each prospect, raising awareness and sparking interest, asking the right questions, actively listening and performing research that helps you highlight the specific benefits that are important to them
- Achieve or exceed sales activity targets (number of meetings, number of qualified opportunities)
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, marketing or relevant field
- Solutions-oriented and creative with the ability to generate interest and urgency, uncover customer needs, present relevant products/services, overcome objections and motivate action
- Experience using Salesforce is an asset
- Confident and energetic with excellent presentation, verbal and written communications skills in English and French required
- Proficient in MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fast learner who takes initiative, is resourceful, organized, and able to effectively multi-task
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a sales-related environment, preferably at B2B SaaS companies
- Prior experience working with media, PR, marketing and communications professionals is an asset
- Very driven, disciplined and dedicated to overachieving and succeeding with strong time-management and prioritization skills

- Préparer et présenter des argumentaires personnalisés à chaque prospect, en sensibilisant et suscitant l’intérêt, en posant les bonnes questions, en faisant preuve d’écoute active et en faisant des recherches qui vous aident à souligner les avantages spécifiques qui leur importent
- Fournir un soutien aux équipes de vente, de marketing, de service à la clientèle et de développement de produits et collaborer avec elles au besoin, notamment en participant à des démonstrations de vente, en établissant des listes de campagne et en partageant les commentaires des clients
- Développer une solide compréhension de nos marchés cibles et de la manière de positionner et de différencier nos produits, notamment en répondant efficacement aux objections
- Atteindre ou dépasser les objectifs d'activité commerciale (nombre de réunions, nombre d'opportunités qualifiées)
- Savoir être orienté vers les solutions et être créatif, et capable de susciter l'intérêt et l'urgence, de découvrir les besoins des clients, de présenter des produits/services pertinents, de surmonter les objections et de motiver l'action
- Un baccalauréat ou l’équivalent en commerce, marketing ou un domaine pertinent
- Apprendre rapidement et prendre des initiatives, faire preuve d’ingéniosité, savoir s’organiser et remplir plusieurs tâches efficacement
- Motivation, discipline et détermination à réussir avec de solides compétences en matière de gestion du temps et de définition des priorités
- L’expérience de l’utilisation de Salesforce est un atout
- Maîtrise des applications MS Office (p. ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Confiance et énergie, excellentes compétences en matière de présentation et de communication verbale et écrite en anglais et en français
- Une expérience de travail préalable auprès des professionnels des médias, relations publiques, marketing et communications est un atout
- Un minimum de deux ans d’expérience dans un environnement relié aux ventes, de préférence au sein d’entreprises B2B SaaS
