Business Development Proj Manager

Position Purpose

Shell is currently looking for a Business Development Project Manager (BDPM) to join our team in Calgary!

This role is designed to enable the acceleration of our business strategy and strategic pillars and will provide project management skills that are primarily focused on improving delivery and implementation of new business opportunities. This role will be reporting to the Business Development Lead for Canadian Mobility and may eventually transition to working on projects more broadly across the Americas. As a Project Manager on the Canadian Mobility business you will play a key role in delivering the growth required of the organization by managing the implementation of various projects. The projects in scope will be critical to the Canadian Mobility organization’s ability to meet targets and remain competitive through the energy transition. This role will have significant impact on the organization’s ability to maximize value through the on time and on budget delivery of projects and will ensure a seamless hand off to the business.

Specifically, the Business Development Project Manager will be responsible for developing the project plan, identifying resources, risks and constraints, working cross functionally to mitigate those risks and constraints, and ultimately ensuring delivery of projects in line with commitments outlined in project premise documents. Delivery against commitments, and subsequently achieving top post investment review scores, is a key driver of Canada’s ability to continue to attract capital for inorganic growth opportunities.

Accountabilities:

• Liaise with external counterparties and partners, often at the C Suite level, to coordinate workstreams across both organizations
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels and across multiple disciplines/functions, act as primary focal for senior stakeholder communications
• Development of detailed Project Plans including identification of tasks, risks, and dependencies to ensure delivery of project against commitments
• Supporting various Project Leads in the delivery of select acquisitions and projects, anticipated to be supporting 1-3 projects at a time.
• Responsible to track costs against approved project premise, identify and communicate potential overruns on a timely basis
• Responsible for ensuring effective project cadence and progression, identifying and escalating blockers to delivery, such that any potential issues can be addressed before negatively impacting the delivery schedule
• Become Subject Matter Expert in Binding Corporate Rules and Shell Control Framework requirements and compliance timelines

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and or relevant experience and training will be considered
• Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on a full-time basis for anyone other than the current employer
• Experience using the Gantt chart in managing projects would be considered a strong asset
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role; commercial experience is desired including knowledge of the mobility space
