Job Description

Manager, Business Relationship Management (BRM)

Contract: 12 Months

Location: Ottawa Preferred – Hybrid (Adhoc On Site)


The Manager, Business Relationship Management works to develop an integrated view of the business unit, in the context of the enterprise, using repeatable approaches, a cohesive lean/agile framework, and a continuously iterating set of business analysis tools and techniques. The position will provide direct input into the governance cycle for the funding, oversight, and realization of business projects. The incumbent helps to ensure that business and IT projects are aligned to support the achievement of key goals that continuously improve our delivery of client value.


THE INCUMBENT:

  • Documents current state and designs target state operating models, using Lean and user-experience (UX) design principles.
  • Acts as a digital business strategy partner and advisor, creating technology and digital experience roadmaps to support the client’s overall business goals and business plan.
  • Leads feasibility evaluation of technologies and prepares points of views/proof of concepts, in partnership with Information Technology Services (ITS) and other internal and external resources.
  • Works with the BRM Practitioners and Business Analyst to develop business case documents with clearly defined needs and scope and for all priority technology requests.
  • Manages a team of full-time Business Analysts.
  • Manages and prioritizes all requests related to digital experience, automation, and process improvement.
  • Acts as the main point of contact for the client for all technology requests.
  • Maintains knowledge of evolving trends in technology and product/service digital experience and uses this knowledge and expertise to guide clients.
  • Analyzes work processes, systems, and organizational functions using interviews, observation, data, statistical analysis, and research to determine where and how to generate measurable benefits for the client.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Business Relationship Management Profession Certification
  • Proven team management capability
  • Experience in post-secondary education is an asset
  • Experience in developing closely aligned and pragmatic IT plans/roadmaps to establish technology as a key enabler of business strategy.
  • At least 9 years of experience in a combination of IT or Business leadership, digital strategy, business support, application support, and project management with a strong record of delivering quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Broad knowledge of major technologies.
  • ITIL an asset
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in managing, coaching and mentoring personnel as well as managing operating and capital budgets.
  • A four-year Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field or a combination of education and experience
