Position: Associate Producer – Overnights, National Assignment Desk
Location: 9 Channel Nine Court, Scarborough
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week. Overnights Wednesday through Sunday. Overtime as required
Responsibilities
Working under direction of the Domestic and Foreign Assignment Editors, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Chasing credible interview subjects for news stories
• Planning for upcoming coverage on multiple news platforms
• Assisting the Domestic and Foreign Assignment Editors, as required
• Assisting writers/producers in accessing specific visuals
• Overseeing the editing of voiceovers and reporter items for on-air
• Working directly with editors/playback operators
• Other duties as assigned
• Monitoring events overnight via wire/newsfeeds

Qualifications

• Ability to juggle competing priorities simultaneously on deadline
• Ability to work with multiple platform needs and requests
• Journalism or broadcast degree
• Familiarity with iNews
• Highly organized
• Excellent knowledge of current events and good news judgement
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills
• Excellent computer skills
• A minimum of 2 years of newsroom experience
