Job Description
At Rovio Toronto we are a small (and mighty!) team of passionate gamers. We have a knack for working with high profile brands and taking them to new heights in highly enjoyable and fresh games. Our current focus is mobile with aspirations to explore other platforms in the mid/long term as we recognise new opportunities in our constantly evolving market. Our human-scale keeps us nimble and means that everyone has a meaningful part to play.

We value transparency and candor, empowering each other to do our best work and achieve true work/life balance. Our hybrid work model allows for flexibility while still maintaining a strong sense of community and we would love you to be in the studio 2+ days a week so you can facilitate close collaboration with the rest of the team.

Join us and help us build a culture of trust, passion, and innovation! We are looking for an Associate Producer to join our team in Toronto. You will be contributing to the success of our new project, working closely with the Game Lead, supporting them in keeping the project on schedule, testing the game and participating in every aspect of game development. If you are hungry to learn, this job is for you!

How your days will look like:

  • Provide support and on the spot triaging for daily build and game team needs
  • Work with the Game Lead to help manage and improve team processes and collaboration
  • Work closely with the Game Lead to lead the project and team towards established targets and ensure any daily challenges get resolved by the team in a collaborative manner
  • Take on the responsibilities of an internal QA, writing test cases, checking new implementations and later support the outsourcing of the QA activities to external partners
Who we think will do great in this role has:

  • Ability to not shy away and seek support & guidance from colleagues to constantly develop professionally and learn
  • Ability to communicate effectively to foster team collaboration and make sure the team is continuously moving towards the same goal
  • Some experience in and a deep passion for the gaming industry which will help you navigate team interdependencies and drive solid decision making
  • Proven organisational skills and attention to detail as you will be responsible for task management in the team ensuring the schedule is kept
We'd love if you have some of there:

  • Previous experience with QA and testing would be a huge asset to us early in the project
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks or other project management methodologies
  • Previous experience in production or project management will help you get up to speed quickly but is not a must
  • Experience with common game development tools such as Slack, Jira or Confluence is helpful, but you can also learn them here
Recruitment process:

  • First meeting: You will meet your future manager, the Game Lead, here. We will do a deep dive into your skills and give you an opportunity to learn more about Rovio and the specifics of the role.
  • Second round: You will meet our studio leadership for us to explore how you contribute to our culture here and learn how we can help you develop.
  • Initial call: a first chat with our TA Partner to get to know you and understand what motivates you.

Do you have everything we’re looking for? Of course not! No one does. If you feel strongly you have something to contribute to our team then please apply anyways!

Rovio is committed to building an inclusive workplace and we encourage a full range of diverse and talented candidates to apply for our open positions.

Our community of Rovians is made up of people from over 50 nationalities who each bring their own unique perspective to their craft and their projects.
